Carousel Ads are effective for most marketing campaigns and for a number of reasons. Compared to a single image Ad, Carousel Ads provide the flexibility of storytelling, providing much more information on the Ad, using different Call-To-Actions on the same Ad e.t.c.

Hey guys, and welcome to yet another episode on the marketing podcast digital marketing tips and insight Episode 130. Now, in today's episode, we're going to talk about carousel ads, what are they? 

Why should you run carousel ads, etc. Now, Garcia as a simply when you instead of posting or instead of advertising using one image or using one video, you now use multiple videos now from any anything from two videos or two images to up to 10 images. 

Now the benefit of doing this because you might be asking why should I use more than one image or one more than one video, if the first video is able to tell the story and you know, sell the product or service, create awareness, etc, depending on the campaign that you're running. 

And the reason I say this, because carousel ads gives you a lot of flexibility. Now when you think about it this way, if you're running, let's say you don't have a budget for running video ads. By the way, if you don't have a budget for you running video ads, you can use in video, I think it's in video, which I or in video.com to create your video ad. 

It's not we're not any way affiliated to them. So let's say you don't have the budget to do video ads. So you want to use different images to run your ad, maybe you want to tell the story about your business, how you run your business, or the story behind your product or your service, or the kind of problem that you're looking into solving, etc. 

Now, it gives you that flexibility, because you can have now to anything, anything between two to 10 images, where you're simply telling the story now one of the ads I was running was to create more awareness on this podcast. And what I did, maybe some of you have seen this, maybe some of you have actually joined the podcast through these kind of Facebook ads is that I shared the story of, you know, trying to have someone's at their own podcast.

 So it was simply simply a carousel ad where explained step by step how they can run or how they can start their own podcast. So in the first image of like, how to start your own podcast, he is how in 2021. So try and create a copy on that. And then the second image I'll start by not explain. And then at the COVID, I'll state like maybe in the fourth fifth or sixth image of said like if you want to learn more, click this link. 

And if they when they click that link, they'll be sent to a landing page. And that is on episode 126, where we talked about how to start your own podcast in 2021. And once they get on to that, what happens is that I have an email sequence already in place. 

So the email, the email or the subscription, they'll have, they'll have like an email subscriber pop up, that will appear and prompt them to become part of my emailing list. So I'm actually doing two things at the same time. Not only do they get to listen or to become aware of the marketing podcast, they also have a chance of becoming part of the newsletter. 

So I'm doing two things at the same time, we're running basically two campaigns at the same time. Now, one of the things that I like about carousel ads is when it comes to each and every image for each and every video that using the carousel ads, you can put different links on to that that leads to different landing pages. 

And you can put different descriptions or different ad copies on each and every image. Say for example, you're running an online retail store, maybe you're running a store on Shopify, or Magento, etc. And you're selling different products that you know are unique in their own way, but you don't want or maybe you don't even know you don't want to spend a lot on

advertising, maybe your budget is not that big. So you want to save on advertising as much as possible. You can use different images of different products that you're selling on the carousel ads and have different links or URLs, leading to those specific landing pages where the people who are exposed to your ad can actually find your product. Now one of the good things about using personal ads from my experience is that click through rate is actually high compared to running any other form of ad. 

Now that's what I've seen from the campaign that I've been running and also the cost per click your CPC is actually quite low. So you're saving actually a good chunk of money. You're getting a lot of ROI for your your your advertisement. That's primarily why I've seen that a lot of people actually clicking the ridge is actually quite high, because I didn't actually put a lot of budget into running this carousel ad because it's an experiment that I'm running, I'm trying to figure out how it works out, it's still actually running for the next couple of days, I think up until Friday. So I'll give you a report once it's done. 

But so far from what I've seen for from a couple of days is that it's performing really, really well a lot of people actually joining the new, our emailing list, and also, the click through rate is quite high. So I'm getting a lot of clicks and the CPC, the cost per click is low. So that's one of the reasons why I'm running carousel ads compared to any other form of ad. Now, obviously, video ads, as of 2021, always perform better than, you know, using an image to run an advertisement. 

But the thing or the problem of running or having only one image to sell your product or to advertise is that you don't have enough flexibility to tell enough to tell your story to the point that it convinces someone to actually click through on herencia website. And that's one of the reasons that you know, in a video, you can, you can easily do that in a 15 second, or a 32nd video ad, you can easily do that, you know, talk about, you know, maybe the main things that your product is trying to solve or your service or what you're about, etc. It can easily display all that kind of information within less time. But with an image, you don't really have that visibility. 

That's why I'm doing that. So in my opinion is that if you cannot afford to run a video ad, you can easily start with the council, our cost per click is actually low. It enables you to share your story and gives you a lot of flexibility. You can also have different URLs or different landing pages, simply on this on the same ad. 

Now how do you run carousel ads, if you're running it on Facebook, they just simply head on to business.facebook.com head on to your ads manager and start with let's say if you're doing an ad that you want to link traffic or generate or send traffic to your website, maybe it's your return store, click on website. 

And then from there when it comes to ad format click on carousel I think at the moment Facebook allows you up to five carousel ads. Instagram allows you up to 10 for for Instagram, you can easily create a carousel promo and then click on promote and then put in your specification of who your ideal persona is or who exactly you're targeting. And then activate your ad and what you add go live despite actually running carousel ads even just doing carousel on their own is actually quite good. 

Now we've mentioned this before is that when you're running when you use carousel on your Instagram The good thing about this is that if someone sees your post your carousel post on Instagram, and they do not like it or they do not engage with it. After 24 hours Instagram will show them the second image of that specific carousel post. 

So it's more likely that people will start engaging with your content because they get exposed to it as often the frequency is much higher compared to any single post so that's one of the good things.
